BBQ Sauce – Kato Style

Denise sent in this recipe & what more perfect time then right before July 4th!

1 medium onion
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons vinegar
2 tablespoons brown sugar
4 teaspoons lemon juice
1 cup ketchup
3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1/2 cup water
Red pepper – a dash or more depending on your tastes
2 tablespoons minced garlic

Brown onion in butter in a 2 quart skillet or small stock pot.
Mix in remaining ingredients.
Simmer low over heat to blend flavors & dissolve sugar.

****Asian Fusion BBQ Sauce –
Add into above sauce:

2 tablespoons powdered ginger
2 tablespoons honey
1 teaspoon vanilla
