Granny's Mississippi Mud Cake

Since we are celebrating our Independence Day next week, what better way than with a cake named after a state? This is my Granny's recipe & something she had to make all the time! It's always a hit. I promise!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
2 sticks of butter
1/2 c cocoa
2 c sugar
4 eggs lightly beaten
1 1/2 c all purpose flour
1 pinch of salt
1 1/2 c chopped pecans
1 tsp vanilla
1 bag mini marshmallows
Melt butter & cocoa together. Remove from heat. Stir in sugar & eggs. Mix well. Add flour, salt, nuts & vanilla. Mix well. Spoon into a large greased pan. Bake @ 250 degrees for 30-45 mins. Sprinkle with marshmallows while cake is hot. Cover with icing.
*Icing*
1 stick of butter
4 tbsp cocoa
6 tbsp milk
1 box powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla
Cook butter, cocoa & milk. Bring to a boil, remove from heat. Add sugar & vanilla, mix well. Spread over cake.
***Note
You don't have to use nuts.
Also the cake mix makes some of the best brownies.
